Cavite is 1st runner-up in reg’l 'Dulaang Pangmamimili 2012' contest

TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite, Nov 17 (PIA) -- The Munting Ilog National High School in Silang was the first runner-up in the just concluded Department of Trade and Industry-Calabarzon-sponsored “Dulaang Pangmamimili 2012” competition held at the Malayan Colleges Laguna auditorium in Cabuyao, Laguna.

The school received P15,000 worth of cash and gift checks including plaques, trophies, and medals courtesy of Jollibee Foods Corp.

Batangas State University emerged as the overall champion while Regional Pilot School for Arts in Rizal was second runner-up; Pedro Guevarra National High School-Laguna clinched the third runner-up while Sacred Heart College in Quezon province was fourth runner-up.

This was part of a series of events conducted by DTI Calabarzon regional offices in celebration of the Consumer Welfare Month last October with the nationwide theme “Get Organized. Be Heard. Be Empowered.”

It was also in accordance with Presidential Proclamation 1098 dated September 26, 1997 declaring the month of October of each year as Consumer Welfare Month.

It is the month when concerted efforts for the assertion of consumer rights are thoroughly discussed, planned, and carried out by the national and local agencies concerned. (RF-PIA 4A, Cavite/DTI-Cavite)
