DTI Cavite conducts consumer stage play contest

DASMARIÑAS CITY, Cavite, Nov 6 (PIA) -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Cavite provincial office has concluded the “Dulaang Pangmamimili (consumer stage play)" competition for public high school students in the province. 

The event was held at the SM City Dasmariñas event center where students from the Munting Ilog National High School in Silang bagged the championship trophy and P 7,000. They will compete at the regional dulaan on November 8 in Laguna. 

The Tagaytay City Science National High School clinched the first runner-up trophy plus P 5,000 while the Congressional National High School Dasmariñas received the second runner-up trophy and P 2,000. 

Meanwhile, the judges gave special awards including P 1,000 and a certificate of recognition to the following: Best Script for Tagaytay City Science National High School, Best Director and Best Female Performer to Congressional National High School Dasmariñas, and Best Male Performer for Amadeo National High School. 

The board of judges was composed of the following: Christian Ismael, Jesus is Lord (JIL) Bulihan-Silang Choir conductor and pianist, Ruel Santa Ana from Jollibee SM Dasmariñas, and DTI 4A Regional Director Marilou Quinco-Toeldo. 

This was part of series of events of DTI Cavite in celebration of the Consumer Welfare Month with this year’s theme, “Get Organized. Be Heard. Be Empowered.” It was also in accordance with Presidential Proclamation 1098 dated September 26, 1997 declaring the month of October of each year as Consumer Welfare Month. 

It is in this period that concerted efforts for the assertion of consumer rights may be thoroughly discussed, planned and carried out by the national and local agencies concerned. (RF-PIA 4A, Cavite/DTI-Cavite)
